How to buy a TV

Hello guys, there are people who ask me about many things and this is one of them. Here I am going to give you guys some tips regarding how to buy a new TV or which TV we should go for.
Before I tell you anything else let me ask you one thing.
Can we use our TV as a computer monitor?
When I was a kid I always thought of buying a big TV than using that as a monitor because it will be better and cheaper than buying a big Monitor but that was a mistake on my part because a monitor has a higher refresh rate than a TV and one TV's are made for watching from a distance but Monitors are not which means if you are going to use your TV as monitor then you will not be able to see text or Images clearly on your TV because you are too close to it.
My suggestion you should not try to combine Both.

Things to remember while Buying a TV

1. SIZE:- Now, first of all, you should know which size you want and for that, you should take into accounts some important factors including size of the room in which you are going to put your TV and wall or table on which TV is going to be installed.
(size of the TV is measured diagonally)
Tip:- Multiply the size of the TV with  1.5 and you will get the distance from which you should watch that TV you can use this method to reverse calculate the size of the TV as per the size of the TV.

Resolution:- when it comes to display resolution is also very important because the resolution is the reason you can see images on your TV, mobile or Monitor.
Tv resolution
What is a Video?
Rapidly changing images (for example 10 images per second)
What is a digital image?
Collections of Pixels

If you zoom any image so much you can even see the pixels.

Resolution type-pixel count
HD ready-1280 px horizontally  720px vertically. (strongly not recommended)
Full HD-1920 px horizontally  1080px vertically.
4K-Full HD multiplied by 4
8K-Full HD multiplied by 8

More the pixels better the quality which means you have to go for the higher-resolution in your budget.

3. Refresh rate:-Refresh rate is the next very important thing when it comes to buying TV. The refresh rate is the rate at which your Tv is changing Images per second. Following are my recommendations:

Size(in inches)- Hz
52-59(None 3D)-120Hz
60<(None 3D-240Hz

4. Type Tv:- you all must have heard about the following types of Tv's:-
  • LED
  • LCD
  • OLED
  • CRT
  • QLED
  • Plasma
But if you ask me there are only 2 types Tv's nowadays
  1. LCD
  2. OLED
All other types of Tv's are covered under these both types

LCD:- Liquid crystal display is the technology in which they use liquid crystals who are of different colours when lights touch them they form images...In LCD technology they use CCFL lights to light-up the crystals.

LED:- It is also like LCD just the difference is that they use Led Panel instead of CCFL lights.

Note:-LED's saves power and gives good quality light.

It means the only difference was of the light source.
After this Samsung Innovated a new technique called QLED TV. In that technique, they increased the brightness and added more colours so that the images can be sharper.

Conclusion:- LCD Includes LED and QLED.

OLED:- It stands for Organic Light-EmetingDiode. They don't use LED panels to light up the entire crystal display instead they use 1 LED per Pixel. Because of this, the cost is higher than Other types of TV's. (It is the best technology in the current era But They are Expensive)

5. Contrast ratio:- The contrast ratio is a property of a display system, defined as the ratio Which Made a colour look darker or whiter for Example:-
contrast ratio

6. Input port:- If you are going to a TV then check how many HDMI and USB port are available in the TV.....minimum you should go for 2 each.

7. extended warranty:- It safeguards your TV.(Must)

8. Service Center:- Check service centre's location near you before taking TV.

9. Other Configurations:-

  • Curved or Flat TV:- Curved Tv has its disadvantages.
  • 3D or NONE 3D TV:- You will be needing 3D glasses and 3D content (3D content is not easy to find)
  • Smart TV:- you can use Amazon Firestick or chrome cast to make your normal TV a Smart TV. (All time Internet required....minimum speed 4 Mbps)
